The golden hour test that didn't hold up

The golden hour test that didn't hold up

Everyone says: "Get 20 comments in the first 60 minutes or the post dies."

A team tested it deliberately: for 25 posts they mobilised colleagues to comment fast. For another 25 they posted and walked away. Same account, randomised order.

The claim: early velocity decides everything.

24-hour impressions: the "golden hour" batch averaged 3,100, the walk-away batch 2,800. An 11% edge — real but small. Here's the catch they almost missed: the gap vanished entirely on posts with strong saves. A walk-away post people actually saved out-reached a juiced post nobody kept.

Early comments give a nudge. The save gives the engine fuel for days.

You can manufacture the first hour. You can't manufacture the bit that lasts.
