What's the pre-launch SEO checklist for a new product page?
'Q: I'm about to publish 50 new products. What should I check before they go live?'
Short answer: Confirm each page is unique, indexable, linked, and schema-complete before it hits the sitemap — not after.
The longer version: Run the pre-flight.
— Unique title, H1, and description per product; no template placeholders or copied supplier blurbs left in.
— Self-referencing canonical and no stray noindex from staging.
— Internal links in: each product linked from its category and from 2–3 related products, so it isn't orphaned.
— Complete Product schema: name, image, offers with price/availability, brand, identifiers.
— Images named and alt-tagged; sized for performance.
— Add to the sitemap only once the page is final, and request indexing for priority items.
Example: a store bulk-published 50 products with the default 'Sample description' text still in place; they sat unindexed as thin pages until rewritten.
Rule of thumb: a product page isn't ready for the sitemap until it could rank on its own.
