Consolidate vs fragment your account structure
Account got messy — 30 ad sets each on $10? Here's the call:
— Consolidation (fewer campaigns, fatter budgets, broad ad sets): pools conversion data so the algo learns faster and exits learning phase. The modern default.
— Fragmentation (many narrow ad sets): more control and granular reads, but each one starves for the ~50 conversions/week it needs to optimize.
The rule:
— Spread thin and nothing exits learning → consolidate hard, merge the winners.
— One giant ad set you genuinely can't read → split just enough to diagnose, then re-merge.
Risk: over-consolidating into one black-box campaign means you can't see what's working when it dips.
Merge your three weakest ad sets into one winner and watch the learning exit speed up.
