The First-24-Hours Onboarding SOP
SOP = standard operating procedure. New members decide if they'll stay inside the first day. Run this from the moment they join:
☐ 0–5 min: auto-DM with their name + one link to a single "start here" message (not a wall of rules)
☐ Hour 1: pin a "reply with what you're working on" prompt; a human (not a bot) reacts to their first post
☐ Hour 3: assign them one tiny action — vote in a poll, drop a city, add a tag
☐ Hour 12: surface one relevant past thread matched to their intro
☐ Hour 24: a mod @-mentions them in a live conversation
Trigger for each step is time-since-join, not manual. If a member hits zero of these, they ghost.
