I tested a flat, almost worried expression with the line "Okay, I need to be honest about something I got wrong." The mismatch between a creator's usual energy and a serious face is itself a pattern interrupt.
3s retention 84%. The serious face made people lean in to find out what was wrong.

The lesson: a warm smile says "nothing urgent here." A flicker of concern says "stop, this matters." Sometimes the face IS the hook, and warm is the wrong setting.
