A big account sells the formula: "Here are 3 things nobody tells you about X." I plugged in my niche: "Here are 3 things nobody tells you about Facebook ads." 3s retention 70%. The template was so overused my audience had banner-blindness to it.
I kept the curiosity gap but broke the template shape. "There's one Facebook ads setting I was scared to touch for a year. I was an idiot." Same "hidden knowledge" promise, zero template smell.
3s retention 83%.

The lesson: a viral template stops being viral the second 10,000 people use it. Keep the psychology (hidden info, curiosity gap), ditch the recognizable wording. Familiar structure reads as spam now.
