Q: I heard Consent Mode means denied users send zero data, so my numbers will crater — true?
A: Outdated — that's basic Consent Mode. Advanced mode changed the story.
— With Advanced Consent Mode, a denied user still sends cookieless pings (no identifiers), so GA4 can model conversions and behavior.
— With Basic mode, tags don't fire at all until consent — that's the 'zero data' version people quote.
— Which you have depends on your CMP/tag setup, not a GA4 toggle. Confirm with the Tag Assistant consent check.
So 'denied = nothing' is only true for Basic.
TL;DR: Advanced Consent Mode sends cookieless pings + models the gap. 'Denied = no data' is the Basic-mode myth.
