Q: I'm sending a 'purchase' event, so GA4 will show my revenue automatically — done?

A: Not done — this myth costs people their entire revenue column. The event name alone carries no money.

— Revenue only appears if you send the value parameter AND currency (a valid ISO code like USD) on the purchase event.
— Miss currency and GA4 silently drops the value — you'll see purchases counted but $0 revenue.
— Verify in DebugView: click the purchase event and confirm value + currency are present before you trust any report.

The magic is in the parameters, not the reserved event name.
