We're told a growing number of advertisers issue structurally unique single-publisher codes (think <code>SAVE15-PUB4471</code>) so when an 'exclusive' shows up on a coupon aggregator that never earned it, they trace it back in minutes.
Confirmed pattern: the code's suffix maps to your affiliate ID in the network's redemption logs.
Why it matters: scraping a competitor's exclusive and reposting it now gets the original publisher flagged too — and can trigger a clawback for both. If you run user-submitted codes, strip publisher-tagged suffixes before display.
