Myth: more placements = more reach = better
No. On native networks, "reach" is a vanity number padded with thousands of junk site IDs — parked domains, made-for-arbitrage shells, app webviews recycling the same bot traffic. Turning on "run of network" doesn't widen your funnel; it dilutes it with inventory the network couldn't sell to anyone pickier.
The operators who win on native run narrow. Twenty to forty whitelisted placements, manually vetted, brutally pruned. Everything else is off. Ask yourself: if those extra 4,000 placements were worth anything, why is the network so eager to give them to you by default? Reach is what they sell when performance is what you wanted.
