Myth: scale first on native, optimize later
Wrong order, and it's expensive. Native isn't search — there's no stable auction floor protecting you. Scale early and you flood your campaign with the cheapest, lowest-intent widget inventory the network can find, because that's what "more volume" means at a fixed bid. You don't learn faster. You learn from garbage.
The placements that scale easiest are the ones you should be blocklisting. Optimize first: kill the bottom-quartile site IDs, find the 10-15 placements that actually convert, then push budget into those. "Scale later" usually means "explain to the client later why CPA doubled." On native, optimization is the moat, not the afterthought.
