Myth: the founder should reply to everything early on
When the founder answers every message, members learn to wait for the founder. You become the single point of failure, and peer-to-peer interaction — the actual engine of a community — never starts. The room dies the week you take a vacation.
The correction — Founder Withdrawal Schedule:
☐ Weeks 1-2: answer everything, fast (seed the norm)
☐ Weeks 3-4: wait 60 minutes before replying — let members answer first
☐ Weeks 5-6: only reply if no member has in 4 hours
☐ Week 7+: react and route ('great answer @member'), don't solve
☐ Track 'member-answered question %' — target above 50% by week 8
Your job shifts from answering to making members feel rewarded for answering each other.
Save this for your next launch.
