The specificity pass that saved a vague hook
A business creator's hooks were all true and all forgettable. So I ran a specificity pass, three swaps. Swap one: every adjective for a number. Swap two: every "a lot" for an exact figure. Swap three: every "recently" for a real timeframe.
Before: "I made a lot of money recently with a simple side hustle." Retention opened at 48%.
After the three swaps: "I made $3,180 in 9 days flipping one type of item."
The result: 1-second hold rose to 83%, the post did 174k against his 13k average, and the comments were full of people asking which item, which fed reach.
The principle: vague is invisible. Numbers feel real, and real things get watched. Swap every soft word for a hard figure before you post.
