The audio-only hook test I run before posting

Let me tell you about a podcast-clip account where the hooks read fine on paper but bombed in feed. The problem was vocal, not verbal. So I built an audio-only test. Step one: close your eyes, play the first three seconds. Step two: did the voice change pitch or pace in those seconds? Step three: if it's monotone, re-record with the key word punched.

Before: flat delivery of "he said something interesting about money." Retention opened at 47%.
After: same words, but he dropped his voice on "money" and paused. "He said something... about money."

The result: 1-second hold rose to 74%, the clip did 58k versus a 7k norm.

The principle: the same words die or land on delivery. Test your hook with your eyes closed before you ever post it.
