One page, eleven towns, zero rankings

One page, eleven towns, zero rankings

Meet a garage door company in Ohio trying to serve eleven towns with a single "Areas We Serve" page. A wall of town names, hyperlinked to nothing. Dead weight.

We tore it down and built real local landing pages.

The playbook per town:

— A unique title: "Garage Door Repair in [Town], OH"
— 600+ words of genuinely local content — the highway they're off, the subdivisions, a job you actually did there
— One embedded map centered on that town, not the HQ
— A real customer quote from someone in that town
— Internal links from the homepage and two neighbor-town pages

We built eleven. Three weeks later: silence. Google hadn't even indexed half.

Week six, the first town page hit the map pack's local finder. Then three more. By month three, seven of eleven towns delivered organic calls — 60-plus a month from pages that didn't exist in spring.

The lesson: a town name in a list is invisible. A town name with a story, a map, and a customer is a landing page Google can rank.
