Case study: the call limit that saved 6 hours
Scope isn't only about content — it covers meetings and calls too.
A creator signed a $1,000 deal. The brand then booked her for a kickoff call, a creative call, two "quick syncs," and a wrap call. Six hours of unpaid meetings on a $1,000 job.
On her next contract she wrote: "Includes 1 kickoff call (30 min). Additional calls billed at $100/hour."
The brand kept it to the one call. When they wanted another, they paid $100.
Same fee, six hours back.
The lesson: your time on calls is part of the work. If it's unlimited, it's unpaid.
Your move: write a call limit into scope. One call included is plenty for most deals.
