Links break, cookies drop, in-app browsers strip params. A unique coupon code is the redundancy layer. Systematize it.
Step 1: Issue one code per creator, never shared
Format: HANDLE + offer (ANNA20, JAKE15). The code IS the attribution when the link fails.
Step 2: Make the code do double duty
— Tracks the sale even with zero cookies
— Gives the audience a real reason to use the creator's link over an organic search
Step 3: Set the discount as a rule, not a one-off
— Standard creator code = 15% off, matched across all partners so no one feels cheated
— Higher % only for exclusive launches, time-boxed
Step 4: Reconcile monthly
Match code redemptions against link clicks. Big gap = link tracking is broken for that platform; the code just saved that revenue.
Checklist: unique code per creator, format = handle+offer, discount standardized, monthly reconciliation against link data. The code is your floor when everything else fails to track.
