Your result looks different than you think
Today's lesson: the SERP — the results page after a search — is built differently on phones than on computers. Titles get cut shorter, features stack vertically, and the order can shift.
Think of it like a recipe written for a big kitchen versus a tiny one. Same dish, but the steps get rearranged for the space.
Why you must check both:
1. Most searches happen on phones, so judge your title by the phone, where Google may chop it after fewer characters.
2. Features like maps and image packs often push higher up on mobile, burying text results.
3. A snippet that wins on desktop may sit behind a "more" tap on mobile.
Designing for the laptop you happen to use is a common, quiet mistake.
Try this: search your keyword on your phone and your computer side by side. Note one thing that's different. 🎓
