Today's term: termination for convenience
Some contracts let the brand walk away for any reason, at any time. The fix isn't to ban it. It's to price it.
What it is — termination for convenience means a brand can end the deal whenever they like, even with no problem on your end.
Why it matters — without protection, they could cancel the day before posting and owe you nothing, after you've done the work.
Simple example — pair it with a kill fee: "If terminated for convenience after content creation, 50% of the fee is due." On $500, that's $250 you keep.
Your move — don't fight the clause. Attach a cost to it. "Cancel anytime" should never mean "cancel for free."
