Most SEOs verify it once and forget it. That's a miss.
What it does well:
— 10,000 URL submissions/day on the free tier — an order of magnitude past anything Google gives you
— 'URL Inspection' here shows Bing's discovered/crawled/indexed states clearly
— Site Explorer surfaces backlinks Google's tools hide
Where it falls short:
— The crawl-to-index lag is real: I've waited 2-3 weeks for Bing even after submission
— Reporting lags 2-3 days, so you're always looking at stale numbers
Pros: huge quota, free, IndexNow built in, decent backlink data
Cons: slow index, laggy reports, smaller traffic payoff
Best for: feeding ChatGPT/Copilot visibility, which both lean on Bing's index.
NOT for: anyone who measures success purely in Google clicks this week.
