Tracking indexed-ratio over time: build vs buy
One-off index checks lie; the trend is the signal. Two ways to track it.
Buy: IndexCheckr / SEO Gets / Index monitoring in some rank trackers, ~$15-50/mo.
Build: Inspection API → log coverageState daily to a sheet/DB → chart indexed % weekly.
What buying does well:
— Alerts on sudden deindexing, no scripting
— Historical charts out of the box
Where it falls short:
— Recurring cost, and many just re-poll the same Inspection API you could hit free
— URL-cap tiers; big sites get pricey
What building does well:
— Free within the 2k/day quota, full control, your own alerts
Where it falls short:
— You maintain it; quota caps the URL count; no UI unless you make one
Pros/Cons net: buy = convenience+alerts; build = free+control, more upkeep.
