The content-gap fantasy. I exported a competitor's 4,200 ranking keywords from Ahrefs and tried to act on them.

Most were brand terms, irrelevant variants, or terms they ranked #80 for by accident.

Ahrefs Content Gap:
➕ Surfaces terms multiple rivals rank for, you don't, gold
➖ Raw competitor export is 90% noise

Semrush Keyword Gap:
➕ Same multi-competitor filter, very usable
➖ Same noise if you dump a single rival

Best for: the intersection of 3+ competitors ranking top 10, that's the real gap. A single rival's full export, you'll drown.

Price-vs-value: the feature you're paying for is the gap filter, not the raw export. The myth wastes the best feature in the tool.
