You're crediting the wrong purchases — and missing the 24h vs 89-day gap
The Amazon cookie is 24 hours, but Add-to-Cart extends credit to 89 days. Most affiliates ignore the cart mechanic entirely.
The playbook to maximize the window:
— Drive clicks to a product page, not search — search resets attribution intent
— Encourage 'add to cart now, decide later' in copy for high-consideration items (mattresses, appliances)
— A carted item bought within 89 days still credits you
— Track via the 'Add-to-Cart' column in your reports — it's separate from 'Ordered'
— High-ATC, low-Order categories (Furniture) are where the 89-day window earns most
Conversion-to-order on carted items runs ~18% vs ~4% for raw clicks in our sample (n=1,900).
So what: for big-ticket niches, optimize for the cart, not the instant buy.
