Myth: company pages are useless, only personal profiles work
The question: is the 'kill the company page, post only from people' consensus correct, or an overcorrection from one true observation?
The advice grew from a real finding: personal posts historically out-reached company-page posts several-fold. But that gap was measured in a specific period, and the platform has since invested in company-page distribution and tools (employee notifications, page boosts). The blanket dismissal froze a moving target.
Three findings:
— Personal profiles still win on organic reach and trust — people engage with faces, not logos.
— Company pages now serve as the credibility anchor buyers check (about, careers, social proof) before they trust the person.
— A hybrid — personal posts for reach, page for credibility and retargeting — outperforms either alone for pipeline.
Caveats: page-distribution improvements are recent and uneven; comparisons across eras are apples-to-oranges. Directional.
Bottom line: don't abandon the page — repurpose it. People drive reach; the page closes the trust loop. Killing one to feed the other is a false choice.
