Memberstack, Outseta, and Softr hide content with client-side logic, which means the "protected" page often still ships its content to the browser before the gate decides to hide it. Anyone with dev tools open walks right in. It's fine for soft-gating a lead magnet. Put a paid course or anything you'd be furious to see leaked behind it and you've built a paywall that politely asks people not to read. Real access control lives server-side, where these tools don't.
