Most affiliates arrange feature rows by what feels logical. Wrong move. The columns closest to the product image and price get 3-5x more attention than those pushed to the right. Users scan left to right, then abandon.
Priority placement rules:
• Image proximity wins — Put your strongest differentiator (warranty, delivery speed, compatibility) in the first two columns. If it's buried in column 5, conversion tanks.
• Price context columns — Place discount depth or payment options right next to price. Users decide instantly: is this offer worth clicking? If that info is three columns away, they've already scrolled past.
• Trust signals left — Ratings, certifications, stock status belong in columns 1-3. Right-side trust indicators are ignored.
• Secondary details right — Specs, dimensions, color variants can live in columns 4+. They're reference data, not decision drivers.
The pattern holds across categories: e-commerce, SaaS comparisons, lead magnets. Column 1-2 conversion lift is measurable; columns 5+ barely move the needle.
Test by moving your highest-intent column from position 4 to position 2. You'll catch the shift in two weeks. Don't restructure the whole table—swap one column at a time to isolate the impact.
