Today's term: raw footage rights
Raw footage is the unedited clips behind your final video. Some brands ask for it so they can re-cut your content into new ads forever, without you.
Why it matters: handing over raws means giving away your editing, your B-roll, and control of how you're shown. It's a separate, valuable asset — not part of "one reel."
Example: $700 for the edited reel. They add "plus all raw files." That's a different product. Price it like one — often +50% to +100%.
Your move: by default, you deliver the final edit only. If they want raws, say so plainly: "Raw files are available as an add-on," and quote it. Never throw them in for free to seem easy to work with.
