More RAM won't fix a slow site

They told you: "Upgrade to the plan with more RAM and your site will load faster."

For a content site doing normal traffic, RAM is rarely the bottleneck. Slow comes from unoptimized queries, no object cache, a bloated theme, and shared CPU you're fighting 200 neighbors for. Doubling RAM on an oversold node changes nothing if the disk and processor are throttled.

Why push the upsell? Because "add RAM" is one click of pure margin, and diagnosing your actual stack is unpaid support work.

Reality: you were sold a bigger bucket for a leak that isn't in the bucket.
