Myth: "Your portfolio should show your best work."
"Best" is the wrong filter. Buyers don't book the prettiest reel, they book the one that looks like the job they need done. A polished portfolio that doesn't match their use case gets a pass.
The Portfolio Sorting checklist:
— Organize by use case, not by date or by "favorite."
— Three buckets: paid-ad creatives, organic/native, and testimonial-style.
— Each clip gets one line: brand, format, result if you have it.
— Lead each bucket with the clip closest to your ideal client's category.
— Cut anything that doesn't map to an offer on your rate card.
Save this. Sort once, then rinse and repeat as you add work.
