The 5-metric creator dashboard (and the 2 vanity metrics to cut)
More charts ≠ more insight. A working creator-affiliate dashboard tracks decision-driving metrics only.
Track these five (per creator, per offer):
— Clicks (from UTM, not platform-reported)
— Conversion rate (clicks → action)
— Revenue per click (RPC) — your real comparison metric
— Cost per acquisition (payout ÷ conversions)
— Contribution margin (revenue − payout − fees)
Cut these two:
— Impressions and follower count — they predict nothing about your payout
Build phases:
— Phase 1: pipe UTM clicks + conversions into one sheet (weekly refresh trigger: Monday 9am)
— Phase 2: add RPC and CPA formulas
— Phase 3: rank creators by contribution margin, not revenue
Decision rules:
— If RPC > payout-per-click → scale spend
— If CPA > target for 2 cycles → renegotiate or pause
Definition of done: one tab, five metrics, sortable by margin, refreshed on a fixed weekly trigger. Anyone can open it and know who to scale and who to cut in 30 seconds.
