Q: Rely on my network's fraud tools or run my own fraud checks?
Network fraud tools are table stakes, not a finish line. Use them, but don't outsource your judgment.
— The network catches generic abuse — bots, click spam, blocklisted partners — across all their advertisers. It's broad but shallow, and it doesn't know your business.
— Your own checks catch fraud specific to you: signups that never make a second purchase, a partner whose 'customers' all use the same promo behavior, conversions clustered at odd hours, refund rates 3x your average per partner.
The data the network won't prioritize is downstream quality. They get paid on conversions too. You're the only party with the post-conversion data — retention, refunds, LTV by partner. That's where real fraud hides.
Build one report: refund rate and 60-day retention per partner. It catches more money loss than any pre-click rule.
Caveat: confronting a partner needs evidence, not vibes. Keep the receipts before you pause anyone.
