Position 3 means nothing when the AI answer summarizes positions 1 through 8 and cites two of them. The real metric is: across your money queries, how often does your brand or domain appear in the generated answer at all? Presence, not position.
Stop counting blue-link slots that the AI box already swallowed.
The whole ranking vocabulary is obsolete. Fight me.
