'AND' vs 'OR' in targeting: the quiet audience killer
New to LinkedIn's audience builder? This one trips up everyone.
When you add filters in different boxes, LinkedIn uses 'AND', the person must match all of them. Job title Director AND industry Software AND company size 200+. Each AND shrinks your audience fast.
When you add several options inside one box, that's 'OR', they only need to match one. Director OR VP OR Head of.
Think of AND as a stricter bouncer at every door, and OR as a wider guest list at one door.
Why it matters: stacking too many ANDs is the number one reason beginners end up with a tiny, pricey audience.
Next step: count your filter boxes. More than three ANDs? Drop the weakest one.
