Content calendar: Notion vs Airtable vs a spreadsheet
Pick by how much automation and how many collaborators.
— Spreadsheet: solo operator, under 10 posts/month. Zero learning curve. Stop here unless you've outgrown it.
— Notion: you want the calendar living next to briefs, scripts, and SOPs. Best when content and process share one workspace. Weak at rollups across many records.
— Airtable: you run a roster of deals/creators and need linked tables — one Deals table feeding one Calendar table feeding a Payouts table. Strong filtering and views; built for relational tracking.
Decision rule:
— If you'd ever write a formula that pulls a payout total per brand then Airtable.
— If your bottleneck is keeping briefs and posts in one place then Notion.
— If neither, the sheet is fine — don't tool-shop to procrastinate.
Checklist: status field, publish date, platform, sub-ID, deal owner, payment status.
Definition of done: every planned post has those six fields filled before it's scheduled.
