How do I set up email authentication step by step?
Authentication is three little settings that prove your emails are really from you. Without them, inboxes treat you like a stranger.
Set up all three in your domain's DNS (the settings page for your website address):
—
1. SPF: a record listing who's allowed to send for you. Your email tool gives you the exact line to paste.
—
2. DKIM: a signature record. Copy the key from your tool, paste it in DNS.
—
3. DMARC: a rule telling inboxes what to do if SPF or DKIM fail. Start with a simple 'p=none' to just watch.
✅ Do these in order: SPF, then DKIM, then DMARC.
Homework: Log into your email tool and find its 'authenticate domain' page.
