The guest-post footprint that outed a whole campaign
Spotted in a teardown this week: same author bio, same two-link body, same anchor pattern across 40 "guest posts" on unrelated blogs. Connect the dots and it's not 40 links — it's one network wearing 40 masks, and Google's seen the costume before.
The mistake is scaling a guest-post tactic with an identical fingerprint every time.
What the operators who don't get caught do —
— Vary everything: author identity, link count per post, anchor, placement depth, whether the second link is even yours.
— Audit your own outbound campaign for footprints the way you'd audit a competitor's. If you can pattern-match it in an afternoon, so can the algorithm.
Multiple deindexed campaigns share one DNA strand. The repeatable tactic is the detectable tactic. Watch this space.
