You answered everything and got good at nothing
When you reply to every query, even ones far from your expertise, your answers go thin and generic. Reporters can smell a stretch.
Think of it like applying to 50 jobs with the same letter. Volume doesn't fix a weak fit.
1. Pick 2-3 narrow topics you genuinely know cold.
2. Only answer queries that land squarely in those lanes.
3. Spend the saved time making those few replies excellent.
A reporter who gets one sharp, clearly-expert answer from you remembers you. Ten mediocre ones just train them to skip your name.
Try this today: Write down your 3 real expertise lanes on a sticky note. Next session, ignore every query outside them — even tempting ones.
