My payout method was skimming 6% before the money ever hit my account — across $40k that's $2,400 gone.
The network paid in full; the wire intermediary and FX spread ate 6% on every transfer. I never modeled it. Switching to a same-currency crypto rail dropped the drag to 0.5%. On $40k/month that's $2,200 back in my pocket monthly, for changing one dropdown.
