Mining low-difficulty, high-CPC gaps returned $14 RPM pages
We filtered a 5,000-keyword export for the rare overlap of low difficulty and high commercial value (CPC = cost per click advertisers pay).
— Filter: KD under 25 AND CPC over $6
— Keywords matching: ▇ 84 of 5,000
— Avg volume of matches: 480/mo
— Resulting page RPM (revenue per 1,000 sessions): $14
Most SEO targets the high-volume, high-CPC quadrant, which is also the high-difficulty one. The low-KD/high-CPC corner is thin but nearly uncontested.
Eight pages from this filter earned more than 40 high-volume informational pages combined.
So what: difficulty and commercial value are not correlated as tightly as people assume. The cheap-to-rank, expensive-to-advertise corner is where the margin lives.
Benchmark of the week: only 1.7% of keywords in our sample sat in the KD-under-25, CPC-over-$6 quadrant.
