Case study: testing 2 offers side by side found a 2.4x winner
New to choosing offers? Do not guess, test. A beginner could not decide between two similar sweepstakes offers, so they ran both at once with the same traffic, same page style, and a small budget of $30 each.
Offer A: 'Win a $1,000 Shopping Voucher', payout $1.60 per lead.
Offer B: 'Win the Latest iPhone', payout $1.50 per lead.
On paper A paid more. But the audience decided differently.
Results after $30 each:
— Offer A: 14 leads, earned $22.40, a loss
— Offer B: 22 leads, earned $33.00, a small profit
Then they noticed the real gap was in conversion. Offer B's named, familiar prize (a specific iPhone) converted far better than A's vague voucher. They moved all budget to B.
Scaling Offer B to $90:
— 67 leads
— Earned $100.50
— Result: +$10.50, and a clear winner to build on
Compared to where Offer A was heading, Offer B produced about 2.4x the leads per dollar.
The lesson: the higher payout is not always the better offer. Only a side-by-side test on real traffic tells you which the audience prefers.
Next step: pick two offers you are torn between and run both with a small, equal budget before committing.
