Core Web Vitals now affect your ad revenue in two ways — and most publishers only track one.
The obvious path: CWV scores influence search rankings, which affect organic traffic volume, which affects total ad revenue. This part is well understood.
The less discussed path: poor CWV means slow page load, which means ad slots render late, which means programmatic buyers with aggressive timeout settings skip your inventory entirely. A page that takes 4 seconds to fully load may have your above-the-fold ad unit viewable before the below-fold units even start loading. You're serving fewer impressions per session than your layout suggests.
LCP and TBT are the two metrics that most directly correlate with ad rendering completeness. Target LCP under 2.5 seconds and TBT under 200ms before tuning ad density.
Load speed is an ad revenue optimization, not just an SEO one. The two are the same budget line item.
