Q: My live shopping streams flop in the first 10 minutes. Does going live earlier help?
A: A snack brand fixed exactly this. Their lives used to open cold and sell almost nothing until minute 15. They started going live 10 minutes early with no products — just chatting and answering comments to let the platform push the stream and viewers trickle in. By the time they pinned the first product, they had 4x the concurrent viewers, and first-15-minute sales went from near-zero to about 30% of the stream's total.
The lesson: platforms ramp live distribution over the first minutes. Selling into an empty room wastes your best products.
Also worth knowing: save your hero product for minute 12-15, not minute 1, when the room is full.
