Q: My add-to-carts are fine but checkout completion is low. What's the usual culprit?
A: For a small clothing shop it was a surprise shipping cost. Tracking the funnel, 100 product-tag taps led to 38 add-to-carts but only 9 completed orders — a 76% drop at the shipping screen, where a $7.95 fee appeared for the first time. They moved to free shipping over $35 and showed it on the post. Completions on the same traffic went from 9 to 19.
The diagnosis: the leak wasn't interest, it was a cost revealed too late. Buyers feel ambushed and bail.
Also worth knowing: state shipping or the free-shipping threshold in the video or caption, before they tap. Set expectations early and the checkout screen stops being a surprise.
