Carousels won impressions, text won the inbox
Everyone says: "Document carousels get 3x the reach — switch everything to PDFs."
An operator ran 6 weeks of carousels, then 6 weeks of plain text, same themes, same cadence.
The claim: carousels are the reach cheat code.
Impressions: carousels 2.8x the text posts. That part is real and I won't pretend otherwise. But the analytics export showed something brutal — carousels averaged 14 seconds of viewing across 9 slides, and DMs from prospects ran 4 over six weeks. Text posts, same period: 11 prospect DMs.
Carousels got swiped, not read. People consumed the format and forgot the author. Text forced them to sit with one idea and one voice.
Reach you can measure, recall you can't — but recall is what fills your calendar.
More eyeballs, fewer relationships. Pick honestly.
