I ran a velocity experiment on an air-purifier site: 40 posts in 30 days, all human-edited, ~1,400 words each. Cost: $1,720 in writing. The theory was that a sandboxed new domain rewards a burst of topical depth.

It half-worked. Google indexed 31 of 40 within two weeks. But 9 sat in "Crawled - currently not indexed" for two months. The difference? The indexed ones each had at least 2 internal links pointing in. The orphans had zero.

I spent a weekend wiring internal links from my 6 strongest pages to the orphans. Within 18 days, 7 of the 9 got indexed and started ranking page 2-3.

Month 5 the site hit 9,300 sessions and $410/mo. The velocity didn't hurt me — the orphaning did.
