Killing Elementor on a WordPress site dropped page weight by 71% with zero design changes.
A content site was running Elementor, 14 active plugins, and serving 3.8MB per page. They rebuilt the templates in native block editor, dropped Elementor entirely, and added a static cache layer. Page weight fell to 1.1MB, Time to First Byte went from 1.9s to 410ms, and they cut three paid plugins worth $280/year. Rankings on 60 tracked keywords improved an average of 4 positions in six weeks. Page builders sell you speed of building and quietly charge you speed of loading.
