Client had four 600-word posts all circling the same topic. Each ranked page 2-3, none cracked top 10. Classic cannibalization.
What I did:
— Picked the strongest URL (most backlinks), redirected the other 3 into it with 301s
— Stitched the best sections into one 2,400-word guide
— Kept the winning URL's slug, updated the title to the head term
Went from 1,100 clicks/mo combined to 3,400 in 6 weeks. One page now does the work of four.
