A: A lead-gen site in Germany lost 38% of reported conversions the week basic Consent Mode v2 went live. They switched to advanced mode and modeling kicked in:

Admin → Data Streams → your stream → Configure tag settings: enabled the consent state pass-through

Waited for the 1,000-events-per-day modeling threshold (took 5 days)

Checked Admin → Data display → Reporting identity, set to Blended
Within two weeks GA4 recovered 31% of the 'lost' conversions through behavioral modeling. Final gap vs the old numbers: 9%, which matched the true consent-refusal rate.
TL;DR: Advanced Consent Mode + the modeling threshold clawed back most of a 38% drop. Basic mode just discards refused traffic.
