Is refreshing an old post worth it, or should I just write a fresh one?
Q: I have a 2-year-old post stuck at position 12. Update or replace?
A: Short answer: update — and keep the URL. Longer answer: I watched someone take a "best budget laptops" post sitting at position 11, average 300 clicks/month. They didn't touch the URL. They rewrote the intro, replaced 4 of 8 outdated picks, added a comparison table, and bumped the word count from 1,400 to 2,600 with genuine hands-on notes. Republished with the same slug, updated the date honestly. Within 5 weeks it moved to position 4 and clicks tripled to ~920/month. A fresh URL would have thrown away 2 years of links and history. Refresh beats restart almost every time.
Anyone want me to go deeper on this? React 👍
