Q: Should I buy a domain with my main keyword in it for the SEO boost?
A: Short answer: no — the exact-match domain boost was killed years ago. Longer answer: there was a brief era when bestcheapwidgets.com ranked just for the keyword in the URL, so people still chase it. Google specifically targeted that with an update because it produced low-quality, keyword-stuffed junk. Today a keyword domain gives you essentially no ranking edge, and it can actually box you in: a too-narrow name is hard to expand, looks spammy, and is forgettable as a brand. You're far better off with a memorable brand domain people will type directly and search for by name — those brand searches are a real, lasting signal. Pick a name to grow into, not a keyword to hide in.
